Enemas are a wonderful method of relieving constipation promptly, as well as a powerful detoxification tool. The recommended time spent on GAPS is totally bio-individual, and 2 years is the general time frame. After 2 years a person can slowly introduce various starches into the diet if tolerated, and graduate to a Nourishing Traditions style diet based on ancestral food preparations. Some people may not tolerate the starches from potatoes or grains and thrive permanently on the GAPS Diet.

Die off reactions are common when gut healing takes place. Probiotic bacteria (from foods) attack and kill pathogens and opportunistic microbes , and as these microbes “die off” they release toxins that can cause temporary symptoms in people.
These usually pass with in weeks of starting the GAPS Introduction Diet or Full GAPS Diet. Introducing probiotic foods slowly and in small amounts can greatly reduce die off reactions in individuals. I am here to guide you through with personalized help to ease the process. Other helpful support includes plenty of rest, detoxification baths and sauna, walking, Bach Flower Rescue Remedies, and time. Some symptoms can include fatigue, skin rash, poor sleep, headaches, spaciness, moodiness or behavioral problems, heart palpitations, nausea, and feeling somewhat ill. If a person eats too much probiotic food too fast, symptoms can be stronger. We aim to take it SLOW and SMALL AMOUNTS to reduce symptoms.
